Documents for provisional

Can I apply with a certified copy of a birth certificate. I do not have the original and do not have a passport to apply with. The certificate was purchased from the government website.

I have applied like 4 times to get a passport but couldn’t get anyone to sign for it so gave up. Would not like to go through that stress again… 😬

No as per: https://www.gov.uk/id-for-driving-licence

You must send the original document with your driving licence application.
[start]You cannot use:[/start]

photocopies or laminated certificates

certified copies including those certified by the Post Office document certification service

OP said "The certificate was purchased from the government website."

This is an original document.

What isn't acceptable is a photocopy of an original document with a separate certification written on it.
