EPQ Relation to Schoolwork

What is the extent of the relation between an EPQ and Schoolwork? I know you aren't allowed to do the same topics as in A-Level but i was wondering how far this goes?
I am studying Othello but want to do my EPQ on Macbeth, Hamlet and King Lear. Would I be allowed or is the common theme of author not allowed?

I emailed them but they hadn't responded so whilst i was waiting I wanted to check on here before I read loads of plays/books that i wouldn't be able to use.
