Uni courses are confusing

Hello!

I don't really understand how Uni works.

I am interested in law and all the courses seem to be 3 year "undergraduate" courses. Which implies to me that after I have done my "undergraduate" there's more to do before I can get a job as a lawyer??

Any advice please?

If you’re looking to study Law as an undergraduate, LLB (undergraduate)is the best suitable.
And yes, after your undergraduate course, there’s still a lot for you to do.
1. Aspiring solicitors would sit for the SQE examination.
2. Aspiring barristers would enrol in a one year Bar course and sit for the Bar exam, then pupillage.
Good luck xx

Hi there,

Studying LLB (Hons) Law is a great first step to becoming a solicitor, barrister or paralegal and covers the core foundations of legal knowledge and skills to help you on this path. You may need to undertake more exams/work experience after your undergraduate to specialise in the area you'd want to go into

We'd recommend speaking with Careers and Employability Services at the university who can help with career progression and what you may want to do after your course. Feel free to contact our Careers and Employability team via email: [email protected]

Good luck!
