Student maintenance loan - final year
Hi I’m final year of my nursing degree, my student maintenance loan has been shortened even though my final year is the same as year 1 and 2. We do not finish until September and are still on placements throughout summer holidays.
Also if for personal reasons I’m having to carry on studying into October is there an extension of a loan that can be applied for?

Hi there,
You are paid less in your final year but if your course is longer than a normal course we will assess your for a Long Course Loan and you would get more funding than a normal final year student. If your university sends us a Change of Circumstances to say your course has been extended we can also re-assess the Long Course Loan and you may be entitled to more funding.
