You can compare all the universities mentioned by clicking and looking at each institution side by side (London Met don't take part in any of the league tables and I think St Mary is a University College with its degrees awarded by itself - I think it was Surrey who awarded their degrees, but from the present time it is St Mary's themselves).

If you want to go to a place where your lecturers and the university has strong facilities and research it is probably Westminster out of that list - also (not sure about St Mary's - it does look like a quality institution with its strength in theology) the completion rates at Westminster are the highest out of that list also - by far. The research culture at a university is very important as it trickles down to your degree and shows that the knowledge being imparted to you is at least on the cutting edge and up to date - not just in the sciences - but this applies to any subject area.

You can check this out at the RAE (Research Assessment Exercise) 2008 website and click on each institution - the more subjects entered and the higher percentage in the 4* and 3* areas indicate that that institution is stronger in this particular area. Westminster seems to have entered more subjects (about 21 subject areas - which are a far few) with very strong areas across the board.

Saying all this - you still really have to look at the specific degree you want to study - if that particular university has strong links, research and facilities for that area and even if you'll like studying at that institution (you should definitely visit each place) and if you'll like the atmosphere and the city or town.

You should even look at maybe what they can offer you support wise, not just academically but financially - such as scholarships and bursary provision and if a particular city or town is going to be expensive to live in - though London has so much to offer anyway.
