Government grants/ Bursaries for maths students?

A friend was at a university open day and one of the speakers there claimed that the government was introducing bursaries for students doing maths degrees starting in 2005.

Has anybody got any further information about this ?

Nope you only get money if you get 3 As. For 2006 entry, you get £1000 per year and £1500 for the whole course for 2005 entry.

EDIT: Reading other threads herre, it would seem as though I am wrong and you are right. Why did they make the Manchester website so confusing?
