1st application 2013: no work experience (though made something up for personal statement), extracurriculars:800m and 1500m athlete
Newcastle, Leeds, East Anglia, Nottingham ALL rejections No Interview
2nd application 2014: Work experience 2 weeks hospital, 1 month hopsital, job as a waitress , extracurriculars:800m and 1500m athlete
Leeds: No interview
Queens University Belfast: Rejection post interview
Liverpool: No interview
Brighton: No interview
3rd application: work experience: had a full-time job as a HCA (helped so much!!!) extracurriculars:800m and 1500m athlete
Sheffield: unconditional offer; Firmed this, best decision of my life, Sheffield is great
Keele: offer AAA, withdrawn
St Georges: interview(withdrew the application after offer from Sheffield)
Plymouth : Interview (withdrew the application after offer from Sheffield)
Guys, I'm a doctor now. This is proof that perseverance pays, I remember crying after multiple rejections and knowing that it wasn't proof that I couldn't get it, just evidence of the vastness of intelligence and abilities in students applying with me. Never give up! Get feedback so if you have to apply again you won't make the same mistakes. If you have to take a gap year, get a healthcare related job, makes a huge difference during interviews.
