those were all fine..and they were really easy when we did them a few months ago.. you just get a panic when you open a past paper and can't remember A THING! Its coming back now happily. Mind you, I still find pH a beast! I mean what's with the subtracting from 14 in the indices!!? Mental pilates!

Ouch . For me pH = -log (base ten) [H+]...

That's about it .

What I find hard is the whole half-equivalence thing... i.e. how to show that:

pKa = pH

I have no idea. I always understand and then forget that bit .

Haha, no, it's not sad. Chemistry is not easy unless you know it...

I guess we'll just have to try and know everything for the 26th . I'm off to my German written & listening exams soon...

Good luck!
I've got my first two Chem on the 19th (the hardest, damnit), and the last two on 26th. Are you a diff board? (I'm OCR)
Has anybody read Dr Faustus (Marlowe)
I have it for my final major exam for E.Lit.
It's technically a tradedy.. ok ok it IS a tragedy.. but I found it really humourous, and a fun read.
I also love reading Shakespeare's comedies. Anyone else the same?

I've never read any Marlowe I'm afraid, but I enjoyes A midsummernight's dream (once I actually got my head round it and ignored what the teacher was saying!!) and I love the story of The Taming of the Shrew, but I've not actually read it!
Steph!

I've never heard of it. Is it good? When was it written?

I believe it was written in the 15th century. It's the first book in the divine cemedy the other 2 parts are purgatory and paradise. It's a story/poem about travelling through hell to get to heaven

Thanks Craghyrax  They went alright, I suppose, in the end.

No, my exam board for chemistry is AQA. Like you, however, my chemistry exams are on the 26th - unit 5 and the synoptic, for me. My last exam! I cannot wait until I've done them...

I really want to read Dante's divine comedies. It's just a matter of getting around to it.

On another random note - did anyone here ever watch, or read about, The Animorphs? I ask this because today, following my german exam, I rediscovered a book that is absolutely excellent. I found it in my school library. The book is called The Andalite Chronicles (although the author name escapes me), and I was re-reading it to pass the time, before meeting a friend to watch the england game (yessssssss! We won!:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:).

If you liked the Animorph books, or even the show, then definitely read that book... and even if you didn't, it's still amazing. :top:
Can anyone help identify a series of books for me, it's probably a very slim chance that anyone will know it, buy here we go.

There were 3 books(that i knew of) in the series, i read them when i was doing my GCSEs(94-96), and just read them in the school library, but i can't remember the names or the author or publisher, if it's any help, the books were black.

the gist of the story was about a girl who was a bit of a trouble maker, she had some undisciplined psychic abilities. Her parents sent her to a specialist boarding school in another city, when she got there she met 2 or 3 other specialy abled kids. The teachers helped train them to control their powers. After a while some older students returned but they appeared to be more delinquent. after some questionable lessons and after witnessing the behavious of the older students, the new students realised they are being trained for some sort of evil deed and escape to find some truely good psychics.

i know it's a terrible description, but can anyone help?

I read the Animorphs books a few years ago. I think that the Andalite Chronicles was probably one of the best in the series, although I have to say that, in my opinion, the Animorph series wasn't as good as some of the other things that the author (KA Applegate) has written.

Yeah I liked Animorphs! I loved the flicky pictures that moved at the bottom of the pages (If that makes ANY sense!) and likewise I'd like to read some Dante, my mum's alway's talking bout him... and my English teacher, so maybe I'll give it a shot at some point. ooh... I saw his grave! does that count? lol!

I'm afraid I don't think I've read those books Mr Pedantic, but it r I'f you want a mega light eminds me of a book of my sisters that I read when I ran out of books on holiday... maximum ride, about kids with wings.. it was really good! Think I'll look out for the sequel if there is one next time I'm in town!! If you want a mega light but entertaining read, I def recomend it!

I always went straight past the Animorph books when I was reading Harry Potter books at the bookshop (with full consent) a few years ago. I was put off by the covers for some reason.. they looked badly written and fad-ish, so I guess that kind of made me lose interest.

I knew it was K. A. Applegate! It just didn't sound right, though.... Ah well!

Yeah, the book is excellent . I'm going to see if I can find a copy of it somewhere...
