How is accommodation allocated? If you put in early are you more likely to get you preferred choice or is it just random?

Is the payment for the accomodation done week by week, month by month or in one big go? And also we have to pay a deposit don't we? Anyone know how much it is or does it vary?

It's paid termly, within the first 2 weeks or so of each term. Deposit for UCL halls last year was £150, don't know if it's changed this year though.

The deposit for UCL halls is £150. I think it's a bit more for intercollegiate?

Was a depressing day I paid my intercollegiate deposit.
You forgot the £25 admin charge... :frown:

Ah well, I will probably forget about the money, and in a years time get a £500 cheque and feel quite pleased with myself!

The deposit for your flat next year will come as far less of a shock too if you're paying £500 this year!

I haven't recieved a letter saying what accommodation i'm in but from reading some of your posts i think some of you have.

Could you please tell me what information is needed to secure the accommodation they offer you (i.e. signatures, photos etc.)

I'm going off to Poland/Germany on tuesday so i've got to leave el parents with info. so they can sort it for me, kinda stupid time to go away but i thought i could get in a trip abroad just before uni.

Just been told I've got a single in schafer!
Pretty happy, although hope I'm in one of the larger flats, as socialising and going out is number 1 on my list, then studying! haha, anyone else at schafer!?

Unlikely they'll let you choose a room, they tend to be pre-allocated.

okay so i got a ramsay offer which i do not want AT ALL. it sounds like my hell.
parties all the time.
i can't stand that. i know i sound a killjoy but it's true.
basically cansomeone tell me a real experience? i dont mind if it's bad, i just want to know.

i filled my form in wrongly and put catered halls first on my list which is clearly wrong as i need self catered as i'm jewish = kosherness.

also, what is the whole astor college thing about? i don't understand. it's called ramsay. why is one of the facebook groups called astor but it's for ramsay?

well i called ucl and they said they'll be sending stuff off in 7-10 days...

my accommodation hasn't even been assigned yet and i sent my form in january...so, whilst some might say i'm just being impatient i'm actually a little irritated at that...
