Sitting exams as a private candidate,

Hi im looking to sit some exams as a private candidate i'm hoping to sit

Maths AS/A2 Physics AS/possilbe A2

I gather that practical science exams are very rare to find a centre and if not expensive, A may get away with not sitting these exams as i'm applying for a foundation year.

Anybody know that chances of finding a centre to sit pracitcal, if so whats the cost?

Also what are the chances of being able to sit Math/Physics theory exams/ what are the costs?

Further also, i hear there are some rules to sitting exams, like not being able to sit exams in centres in which you have already sat exams. Are there any other rules like this i should look out for?

what exam board?

All centres charge different prices, ranges from £30-60 for each unit

Many centres do allow you to carry out the practical but I'm sure that alone is very pricey

Some of the private colleges (mostly in London) accept private candidates for practicals

They can be very expensive but you don't have to take the written exams there if you can find something cheaper locally.

Google will probably yield more options, contact local private schools if London isn't an option for you.

Cost varies as each centre is allowed to charge anything they like on top of the exam fees that are around £15-20 for each exam. Some will add a few pounds but can be anything £50-100. Practical exams are going to cost a few hundred.

There is no rule about not being allowed to take them in a centre you have taken exams before. In fact your old school/college is probably the best place to ask first.

Every examiner has private candidate info on their web site
