Well done! I'm not going this year but I'm gonna apply abroad next year. Got all rejections too. Was there a test and interview and what were they like?

Thanks

Yes, there was an entry exam for each uni you apply to...

Entry exams for us brit a-level students are quite difficult..

They use terms that we will probably come across in uni...

There were interviews for people who scored borderline on the entry exam.
I didnt have any interviews though. Although the people who got interview were asked :

Why medicine
Tell me the function and structure of the kidneys

If you apply to poland, they give you entry exam results 40minutes after you finish the exam.
Czech took 2-3 days.

BTW the entry exam is multiple choice

Heres an example question:

Chromosome aberrations (aneuploidy) change:
A) the sequence of genes in the chromosome
B) individual genes
C) individual chromosomes
D) chromosome number

Answer choice:
1) only A is valid
2) only B is valid
3) only D is valid
4) A, C are valid
5) C, D are valid

Fair enough. Nothing wrong with raw determination

Good luck to you. i have a friend who i think has recently graduated from Charles Uni in Czech. From what i can tell he loved it over there, but had to learn to speak fluent Czech. Not sure how easy it is to integrate back into UK medicine though.

Would you want to work in the UK after graduating?

Thanks.

I spoke to a graduate from Charles uni.
He also told me he really liked it.

Their language (Czech) isnt the hard bit...
Their language is easy to learn
the problem is that you have to learn Latin !

Because of that i feel drawn towards Poland but im still not sure..

Only got my offers like 3days ago

Which universities in Poland and the Czech Republic?

Charles in Czech
and
Gdansk in Poland
How much are the fees for those universities?

How are you able to afford them?

the same way everyone else does :l

Fees vary..

just the tuition fees alone are around £10,000 figure..
plus you have to pay for accomodation.. living costs... books.. etc
everyone else recieves a loan from government. I dont think that applies when you're studying abroad?

True. I wonder how the op can afford it. Must have really rich parents.
At what stage do you need to apply for Charles University? It says May 2011, I've only just AS. Should I be applying next year or have I missed the deadline?

I think there are some companies who do allow you to take out loans to cover Uni fees abroad? Or maybe what you say is true.

In any case, at least living expenses would be much cheaper in those countries then over here.

P.S.
Gdansk is a beautiful seaside city in Poland in my opinion. Not sure about the one in Czech though.

Actually, there are no companies that would loan you the money to study abroad. Not unless you put your house down as collateral, but very few people would do that.

I would have taken the loan out, if I knew someplace would loan you the money to study abroad. But, I am positive there are none.

If you are in AS-level now then you apply next year...

You can apply directly to the uni and go do the entry exam there
or
you can apply through an agency (many avialable) but they do charge quite a lot.. more than £2500 and do entry exam in the UK
