Exactly, I mean Joffrey was awful but at least he was slightly comical and you knew that inside he was just a petulant child and quite easy to manipulate but Ramsay is just an absolute 100% certified wacko

To explain, on Dragonstone in episode 7, season 4 prior to Stannis setting off to the wall, Melisandre is talking to Selyse and wants Shireen to come on the journey, Selyse thinks she shouldn't go but Melisandre gets her to look into the fire and tells her that Shireen must be with them when they set sail, as 'the Lord needs her'. All right, that can't necessarily be interpreted as she's going to get sacrificed, but it was still an ominous hint that that could be a possibility.
