After telling someone the degree you study, what is their response?

"I didn't know girls took that"

"It's gonna be a sausage fest"

Computer Science
If I get into uni. I am going to be doing BA geography.

I can almost guess what they will say

'Oh you are doing a degree where you learn to cut and stick and how to colour in maps'

They are likely to ask what other subjects did you do

Economics and psychology.

Oh you did economics why did you not choose to do a degree in economics that is so much more worthwhile.

Me: 'Because it was a boring subject that I didn't need to revise for to get a decent grade, whereas geography is a very versatile degree which can be extremely challenging but also extremely interesting.'
I study pharmacy,
I usually get oh that's so hard, ah well done or people just look at me like :K:
Latest one: "Are you going to save the human race from extinction then?"
Do I look like Doctor Who then?
Yeah same for me with psychology it's usually 'Don't analyse me!'
"You're a girl, you shouldn't be doing physics."
"Right, no need to brag about it. Can't have our precious physicist speaking to dumb people."
"Physics isn't for you, it's for real men."
"I'd never have thought you could have studied physics."

Occasionally:

"Wow, that's really cool!"
"You're doing a great job representing women in a minority subject."
"I can't wait to see you as a professor with a Nobel Prize!" (That one's a bit too far).
Psychology.. "omg read my mind!!!"

Classics.

" It's going to be difficult finding a job."

Or when you are talking to any non-European/Americans/Australians

"Oh, you mean Shakespeare?"
I do electrical and mechanical engineering and people are normally like, "Really, dont boys do that?" or "I thought you would do medicine."
"Sir, can you please tuck your penis back in to your trousers".

"So you're going to be a zookeeper?"

I'm going on to study animal behaviour soon and i swear this is the only response (and the most annoying) i get when i tell people.
I Don't even want to work on a zoo/safari park lmao, there is so many other options you can study with a degree in animal behaviour and I specifically want to study animal behaviour so it can lead to a career in Animal Welfare.
:colonhash:
"Prosecutions? Why you wanna go and lock my people up for?"

:colonhash:
When I said I want to study forensic psychology to other people other than my parents, they seriously laughed at me and said oh you will be working with crazy people, are you crazy? So always get so mad when they do that!!
I'm doing classics, so I usually get an enthusiastically shouted ''Caecillius est in horto!''
Polite People :
1) okay that is a good course
2) wow interesting
3) thats great , keep it up
4) hmmm alright

Rude people:

1) Hmm i dont know you probably wont get a job with a course u study
2) Very hard to find a job
3 ) Oh , why didnt u take this , why didnt you take that , etc.

People always get into your business and tell you what to study. I think - study what you want and dont listen to anyone.
