You started off correctly so there was no need to scribble out your working :smile:

For part a, substitute in the given values into the equation and then simplify it so that you have one value for y :h:

For the second part get everything except x^2 onto one side of the equation then square root both sides by removing the ^2 sign fro the x and putting a square root sign over the other side of the equation. I think, I don't know for sure sorry

1. Y= (-10) - (2x3x25) = -160
2. Y=p-2qx^2
Y-P=-2qx^2
(Y-P)/(-2q) = x^2
X= sqrt((Y-P)/(-2q))

so you are given that:
p = -10
q= 3
x= -5

2qx^2 = 2 * q * x^2

This means 2 multiplied by q multiplied by x multiplied by x

For that part you need divide 2q on both sides and then square root both sides to get the square off

I'm sorry I'm not as educated as you but I have had to teach my self Single & Additional science, Religious studies, History, Higher English and Higher Maths all by myself in less than a year because of complications with school.
