I think that video is rather funny, in a sense that it shows the opposite of what Islam is. Let me educate you: Women in Arabia before islam were treated like slaves or property, it is Islam that gave women rights.
Islam considers a woman to be equal to a man as a human being and as his partner in this life. Women have been created with a soul of the same nature as man’s. Allah (SWT) says in the Quran:

"O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife (Eve), and from them both He created many men and women and fear Allah through Whom you demand your mutual (rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship). Surely, Allah is Ever and All-Watcher over you." (Al-Nisa 4:1)

And in the words of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW),

"Assuredly, women are the twin halves of men." (Sahih reported by Abu-Dawud (RA)

I would also like to add, that women were given rights to vote less than 100 years ago (in the US), while the Quran gave women voting rights more than 1400 years ago.

I can give you many more verses in the Quran giving you the exact rights of women- don't hesitate to ask me.

If you were the one who negged me, you're a jackass. If you're not the one who negged me, you're still a jackass. The maltreatment and oppression of women is ingrained in the human condition and is certainly not exclusive to Islam. You're vid was highly subjective and then, rather redundantly, asked whether the viewer agrees with the penultimate statement. I could equally call the demand for physical attractiveness and the proliferation of pornography degrading the women. I aint even a muslim (athiest for that matter) but I am getting pretty sick and tired of the religion bashing from ignorant little ***** which is becoming all too common on this forum. Yeah, I know you're not religious, whoopdedoo, get on with your life.

I don't think Islam can adapt and progress that much whilst the Koran is only in Arabic and a large amount of Muslims take it literally. The institutional sexist abuse continues.

the quran is translated into many languages

I see more Muslim doctors (female) in hospitals than I see White non-muslim (female)

that tells alot

What hell does that statistically incorrect observation tell you?
There's a difference between culture and religion. Learn it, then you can start posting on the internet.

tells a lot about the lies the non-muslims who try to associate the muslims with slavery and oppression

maybe you should get off your ass and visit the muslim countries and see it with your own eyes

But my ass is very comfortable.

Aww did it? what shall we do for you? Will a hug make you feel better  ? Let me tell you something you should do with your free time, ask a muslim girl if she is opressed instead of hating a religion which you don't known anything about. Women have rights in Islam and yes there are some individuals who are f***ing messed up and use the religion for their own needs. Islam doesn't allow women to be abused my men, just because you have seen muslim men abuse women doesn't mean you can generalise that to all muslims. In fact, a mother has 3x the right that a father has.
Btw I'm a muslim girl and let me tell you something which you'll probably find shocking I DON'T SUFFER IN THE HANDS OF ISLAM

As a matter of fact, I'm a Muslim girl too:smile: And it may surprise others how much I feel that Islam respects a woman and gives her a unique position that no other religion does.Anyone who says Islam oppresses us JUST DOESN'T KNOW WHAT HE'S TALKING ABOUT. That is why the Higab is compulsory in Islam, to increase the value of women in men's eyes, and to protect her from issues like sexual offence.
Get a life.
Stop going on about Islam.

Yeah I knew you were a muslim. Its funny how some people see a girl wearing hijab and instantly think "oh, she must be forced to wear that" never does it enter their tinny mind that she chose to wear it and follow the religion?

Don't you mean how they suffer under extreme Islam?

Since millions of Muslim women live in safety and well being.
But of course that doesn't matter does it?
Ah, the Islamic apologists are out in force, I see.

If you are a Muslim girl or woman who is not oppressed, good for you, but your anecdotal experience (in a liberal Western nation that, for the most part, wouldn't tolerate Islamic oppression, no less) does not preclude others from having such an oppressive experience. Furthermore, thanks to learned helplessness, it is not as simple as just asking Muslim women if they feel oppressed.
