Tried going there yesterday, but it was closed.

Is there any point keeping cod4, realistically are you really gonna play it once you get the new one?

oh and Overlord is utter pants... I played it for less than two minutes and had enough of it already

Yup lol it is. My little brother likes it too.

I phoned a few gamestations and they all seem to have wised up to this deal thing.

Can you use the offer now? As in go to gamestation and trade in the games now in preparation for the release date or does it have to be traded in on the release date?

2 copies of overlords 2 WILL NOT WORK! Gamestation have unfortunately managed to work out that you can buy it cheap. You also can't use the deal before the date of release.

Xbox version at Sainsbury's is going to be £26, not sure about PS3 but assume it will be the same.

Multiplayer.

Modding.

Graphics / Technology

Customization.

Generally, yeah, esp with modding, custimization and the graphics (depending on your PC). But the MP experience is about the same, regardless of platform. The only thing you get in addition (with dedi servers) on some games is a decent sense of community within a server...if you find a good one.

Unfortunatey, none of these really apply to MW2.

Multiplayer is capped at 9v9, no modding, graphics settings are a given, but there's only so much you can push a game that still uses DX9.0c anyway. No mod tools. The "features" that have been pointed out for the PC version by IW was something like mouse support, text chat and custom graphics settings, like no other game before.
TO ANYBODY THINKING OF DOING THIS:
Game and some other retailers will not accept trade ins for some games this include those of us who bought Fifa 10 for 25 pounds, it does not come up on their system hence they will not take it, (this was discussed on the Gamespot UK podcast were a user tired to take it back), they also wen to say that they nay not let you trade in games from some online retailers depending on where they got it from. So just a heads up on that.

tell me about it :p:

But its done and dusted now, MW2 ready for pick-up on Tuesday

Yeah I might use the £40 credit for Uncharted 2 or GT5 whenever that comes out...:woo: ... and buy a cheaper copy from the supermarkets, if they are available.

Crap, really? I find it pretty good :ninja: I play it for the 2player, ain't tried it against the computer.

Dudeee It worked for me at walthamstow :woo:

I've brought MW 2 by trading in ol2 and mw and they had no idea about the whole ol thing in walthamstow :p:

So now all i have to do is bring in my trade in card with the reciept on tuesday and pay a fiver and i've got MW2.

Where did you find that out? I have a sainsburys just up the road from me which I think is 24 hour, if that's doing midnight sales of MW2 for £26 I might be doing the happy dance for most of tomorrow
People have already started finding glitches, and the games not even out yet
Tabris
Yeah, really. I haven't seen anyone use o rly for almost half a decade now, thanks for the nostalgia bomb.

Seriously though, the amount of people that will be playing when the game first comes out, it's going to be a pile of piss. Especially since people will need to get used to the new maps and weapons. Admittedly, I'll have to adjust as well, but I get used to FPS games quite easily. Also, since I'll have a lower number of deaths; yes, it's going to be much easier to get the KDR high. It's simple math. Though it'll potentially fall just as easily.

It's not hard to get good at an FPS. Not saying that it takes much, if any skill at all to press some buttons, but very few people can consistently get decent scores, but the great majority of people who can't even seem maintain an average KDR of 1.5, which isn't really that impressive itself, but somehow, people struggle.

Honestly, I think I've only ever come across about 50 or so people that I genuinely believe are better than I am at pressing buttons on a silly little video game. I'm not saying I'm amazing or anything like that, but I can easily hold my own and I do have my off days, but the vast majority of CoD players aren't too hot at the game.

Woah dude, you read way too much into my nerdy erection joke. :frown:

Fancy picking up Modern warfare 2 for just £26? (Without the buying/trading in hassle?)

I'm really starting to believe the Sainsbury's rumours. HDUK has some photo's that apparently constitute some sort of proof of this:
http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/518958/call-duty-modern-warfare-2-xbox-360

Either way, I've arranged to go to the local Asda Monday night, and if its cheaper at Sainsburys the next day, I can return it and buy it from there at the cheaper price I suppose.

I've been unable to pre-order one at Asda, does anyone know if they're likely to sell out/not have enough on the release day?
I really doubt it, but still, don't want to waste a trip out at midnight on a week night.

If you can be bothered to stand in a massive queue at midnight, it'll be worth it! If you are there queueing at midnight, you'll most likely get a copy. I did for WaW. I'm sure at least one supermarket will be doing some sort of offer at midnight. Whether it'll be as cheap as £26 though, is yet to be seen.

I preordered mine from Tesco Direct when they were doing the 20% off preorders offer, so was around £30-35 (can't quite remember). So unless somewhere is doing it for less than £30, I'll just get a good night's sleep so I'm ready to play it on the day.

I'm home from uni this weekend.

Just playing on my brother's copy on the PS3, he never played the game even though he bought the GOTY edition.

Got some PSN hate for getting 51-13, ,35-5 and 33-10 from a level 1 account on HCHQ haha

The only problem with this awesome offer is that you can't pre-order in sainsbury's :frown: but you can phone up on the day and ask them to keep one behind for you. Early wake-up time for me by the looks of things

everyone should also note that Gamestation does pricematch LOCAL competitors. So if you have a sainsbury's/tescos/asda close to your gamestation they will pricematch whilst stocks last. Note, however, that to ensure you get the pricematch at a midnight launch phone up and let them know you want it price matched, where you want itatched with and your name because on a midnight launch they will say no if everyone in the store clicks on.
