Should I drop chemistry

I got a U in Unit 1 for chemistry (this was with revision).

Now I don't want to go for a retake when there's a chance I'll fail again because I'm not good at this subject and have to work very hard for it and therefore pay less attention to other subjects.

If I was to drop would Universities know abotu this? or not since I wouldn't get a certificate since I never completed the AS course?

Your chosen universities will review your progress on what you are presently doing. So, if you choose to drop it now, this shouldn't affect your application. As long as you have the grades for the courses relevant for the university course you want, you will be fine.
