Calculators Allowed (IB MATH SL)

Hi all,

I am an IB senior and would like to know wether it is allowed to use a calculator(TI-84 PLUS) on IB MATH SL PAPER 1 and 2.
I have seen some tests where it is allowed, but then again there are tests where it isn't.
And my teacher is new and really hasn't got a clue. :P
So may I use it?

Cakes.

Paper 1 is non-calculator
Paper 2 is with calculator

TI-84 Plus is fine, but you'll be required to clear the memory on your calculator before the exam.
Also, paper 1 is non-calculator.

can you take two calculators into the exam as I'm thinking of taking the CASIO fx-83MS since in some calculations it is easier to work with?

Yup, calculators are only allowed in Paper 2. The reason some exams say that you are allowed them is because up until 2008, both papers required calculators. So that's probably why your teacher was confused :smile:

Yess that's super!
Also do you know whether we're allowed coloured(red,green, pink etc) biros?
The rules state that highlighters and gel pens are not permitted.
