Accomodation confirmation

I recieved the contract for my accomodation from university about 3 weeks ago which i filled in and sent back but i havent heard anything from Birmingham. Should they have contacted me to confirm my place because at the moment I am assuming that i just take my contract copy with me when i move in.

I didnt get anything after that, but when i set my direct debit up they emailed me confirming that so i took that as my confirmation.

any one studin at Unicersity of central england..staying at the halls of residence??
