How much would two weeks in Egypt roughly cost?

As an estimate obviously, how much?

Well, it would cost you your hygiene. I wouldn't go there.

It depends on how long you will get an upset tummy for.

I took £300 to Egypt for 2 weeks, not including my flights, three years ago and came back with change, but of course it depends on what you do out there. I went on the cheap, stayed in youth hostels, and watched what I spent. It's not expensive out there at all, but be prepared to haggle, and be prepared for the natives trying to fleece you.
I'm also interested in this thread as I want to go for a week in April.

Is it really as bad as people say? I was thinking Sharm for some sun.

I saw Cairo, Luxor, Hurghada and Sharm.

Sharm is very touristy. If you're just after sun, sand and sea, go to Sharm. If you want to see real Egypt, go to Cairo or Luxor. Hurghada might be lovely, but what I saw of it I didn't like.

I had a good time, but I did get sick for part of it. Take Immodium or similar, drink lots of BOTTLED-ONLY water to hydrate, and watch what you eat.
Sharm is really rough. If you want sun then go to Dahab.

As for the OPs question if you are in a tourist area it will cost a lot more. I live in Cairo so my estimate might be a bit off considering I don't do much touristy stuff...but for normal living I spend about 50 British pounds a week including everything.

It'll cost you an arm and leg if you want to go scuba-diving.
