C3 Jan 11 Edexcel - Solutions and Paper in the first post (Now On) + TIPS

it is fine, if it doesn't show on the scan the marker requests the paper (as long as they can tell something was there I suppose).

3) I didnt want to do the quadratic formula so i just factorised and got 2sinx(2sinx-1)=1
6)c-forgot to find the g(o) after
f) forgot the range was same as g(x) domain
7)a- I was rushing didnt know how to get the 2cos^22x+2sin^22x to equal 2 clocked when time ran out
8)a-blanked out
c-forgot to put square root over x-1
So would an estimate of 60/75 get me an A

i know its wrong but i factorised too - what exactly is wrong with factorising it like that?

because youd then get

2sinx = 1 --> sinx=1/2
and
2sinx-1= 1 --> sinx=1

Everyone thought this paper was generally trickier so the grade boundaries may well be lower this January. Maybe 58 would get 80ums so 60 should be fine.

What course did you apply for at QMUL?

-.- i let it d?/dt=-2.426 C/min because i thought its obvious the rate of decrease is 2.426 !

Also, arsey, in 5)c)i found f'(3.5) and f'(3.6) and i said since change in sign a root Q lies in the interval 3.5,3.6 -.- bad conclusion will i lose 1 mark?
So lets hope 73/75 is 100 :P
