Thing is, if they didn't knock on my door I wouldn't have guessed there is anyone living below me. It's like they tiptoe around, and never speak. They've also complained about me having loud sex... During the day. I can understand how loud sex can be annoying if you're trying to sleep, but at about 7pm?

You should ask to stand in there house when you music is on at teh level you usually listen to it and see what it is like. At the end of the day you can be nice about it or a jerk about it and you seem a bit of a jerk.
