Learning Spanish language: The Spanish Learners' Society!

I keep seeing people asking for advice about learning Spanish, and I've had some PM's too! So, I've decided to make a thread to get everyone together

Feel free to post, no matter what level you are! Ask any questions, introduce yourself...anything!

Adiós!

What sort of thing? grammar? listening? reading?
Also, if any of them are on TSR, let them know about this thread. The more people there are, the better

For grammar: www.studyspanish.com

Also, there are video lessons on youtube; www.youtube.com/languagenow which I think are quite helpful

Hey all

I try to learn a bit of Spanish whenever I have some free time so I'm at a very basic level at the moment. So hopefully I'll find some good resources in this thread, as well as advice.
I think this is a brilliant channel for learning Spanish (though I believe it's Latin American Spanish) and the teacher is fantastic!

Depende de la persona
Lo estudio desde hace 3 anos y todavía me mata también, pero estoy estudiando mucho más este ano (2012). Quiero mejorar mi nivel más rápido, antes de los exámenes

Hola todo! (does that even make sense lol)?

A former GCSE student here re-learning spanish potentially for use for work in South America in two years time. I'm using spanishdict.com and its been useful so far (even if the woman's voice is annoying! ). So far i'm finding that readin text it comes back quite fast (e.g. the posts above), however, saying and writing stuff is very hard! Just can't remember the vocab i used to have. Lots of work ahead of me!

May ask a few questions if freetranslation can't answer them. For now, in my broken spanish (and before i've learned to type spanish characters - doing that tomorrow):

Por que aprenden otras personas espanol? Solo los examenes?
'Explica como Carmen Martín Gaite afronta eticamente y estéticamente en su novela la historia reciente.'

A entregar el día 9 de enero. Ánimo :sigh:
I like the look of this thread. Spanish sounds really sexy, and it's one of the most widely spoken languages, so I want to learn it! I know a decent amount of french, I'm hoping there's some overlap between the two languages... but otherwise, I'm gonna be trying to learn it from scratch
