In halls yes. In a shared house off campus its 1 per house.
Quote from the halls domestic info
Students are reminded that a TV licence is legally required for televisions used in study/bedrooms.

Tv licence page for students.

And when it says communal areas (maybe having a licence already) it means a Hall's common room not just a flat's kithcen.

What grades do you need to get at A level? Do you recon you'll get it? Where abouts are you from? And I think we all need to get our own licences for TV's in our rooms  x

Runnymede 1 Halls
Block T
Level 0
Flat A, Room 3

Very few undergrads seem to be in Runnymede especially those in this forum but I'm still looking forward to it, wasn't my top choice by far but it'll do.

I've updated the first post in this thread so everyone can see where they are and who they're close to.

A quick note: I've tried to divide it up into appropriate sections depending on what accommodation you're living in- so people in places like Tuke or the other new halls are grouped into their flats, but in Reid, as there aren't any flats (despite the different levels) I've grouped everyone into blocks, i.e. essentially the people you're going to be living with and sharing kitchen or pantry facilities with.

Yup, AAB too. Hoping to get my A's in Spanish (being half spanish reaps its benefits :colone:), History and/or Maths and my B in English. Coming all the way from Spain so it all feels a little daunting.

Well.. Lets just hope they are lenient on accepting people, I'm a little worried about getting my B in Maths, My other 2 subjects are Sociology and Psychology which were pretty certain A  Wow, that's a big move for you! I wouldn't be too worried though, the area will be new to all of us really  Just have to socialise lots and meet new people! Where is your insurance offer? What made you choose the UK for uni? x

I need AAB and i think i got it if not i ll just go for the bachelors degree which is ABB. I am from east London by the way. I havent actually been inside Reid hall during the open days... apparently they only showcased Founders and Buter Williamson and tuke.
one more thing do we get microwaves and stuff if not we could just divide up what we need.

Aww sounds like you've got a plan then! Good luck with your results. I got shown into Reid Halls were really nice, the en suite was a pokey lol but at least we have one! Here's a link to what we get in Reid.. http://www.rhul.ac.uk/studentlife/accommodation/royalhollowayhalls/reiddomesticinformation.aspx

So we get a microwave just no oven or cooker but to be honest we wont be doing hard core cooking like that anyway really lol Also I think you can buy an electic hob that just plugs in and goes on a work surface if we want one

thank you and good luck to you too. I heard RHUL is a bit lenient anyway. Is there going to be 8 of us in the hall then?

I thought that when I went to see them, but one great thing about the Reid ensuites is that, as far as I can remember, the shower has a proper door which contains all of the water, unlike the newer halls which have 'wet rooms', meaning that your entire bathroom gets soaked whenever you have a shower! So that's one positive, haha.

Reid is a little strange in its layout; there are 22 people in each block sharing 2 pantries, so if you're in the same block as someone, even if you're not on the same floor as them chances are you'll socialise with them because you'll be using the same pantries, and there's no doors separating the floors. But there are 8 people on the top two floors, and then on the ground floor there's 6, making the 22 in total.

I go to a British school here so naturally I applied to UK unis. My insurance is Huddersfield (kind of regret choosing it as my insurance though :colondollar: so I can't say I'd be too happy if I don't get the grades XD). I do hope they're lenient too in case I miss a grade.

Went to an open day in February and I really like it. Really excited. Guess we'll find out in August, huh? :crossedf:
