Oyster season tickets

Hi,

I'm moving to London, and will be traveling 5 days a week Mon-Fri by underground to central London. I'm not sure where from, but probably up to zone 4-5.

I'll be travelling between 6-7am and coming back between 5-6pm.

Can anybody advise what is the best option for cheapest travel here? 7 day, or monthly Oyster card? I will only be making these two travels per day, most likely, maybe an additional one or two a week occasionally (on weekends, usually).

Thank you!

Look at this table

Your travel will fall in peak times both ways, so I'd basically do the maths to see whether 2x a peak single 5 days a week is cheaper then a 7 day, monthly, or annual travelcard. Though living here it's always good to have the flexibility of a travelcard/season ticket to travel somewhere during lunch or at the weekend at effectively no extra cost.

He should get a 16-25 railcard, add it on to his Oyster and then use the Railcard table...

For zone one only - 2x singles £4.20, x5 days is £21, month will be x4.3 weeks so £90.30

Cheaper than the travelcards, but then you will be paying extra going round London on your days off...
