Student Finance. Hmph.

Hey

I applied for student finance a number of months ago, I think I was entitled to a lot more.. but I logged onto Student Finance and saw that:

My payment timetable for loans and grants will be:

Around £1,179 per term!

This is way less than expected and pretty much just covers my accommodation, not even that!

So I'm pretty much ***** if I can't get a job, and is putting me on the bare minimum...

What gives?

EDIT:

No grants on my table on SFE website at all!!! Only my loans...

Doesn't include my long-distance travel I as supposed to be entitled to!

No student gets travel money on a normal SFE loan application
Did you apply for an income assessed loan and send in all the evidence?

I was entitled to a maintenance loan and maintenance grant

Only the loan appears and it says they've sent out a declaration to me

They probably haven't income assessed you yet.

They really messed up mine a couple of years ago and it took 6 months to sort out. Best to keep ringing them, you will get through to them...eventually...

I am in exactly the same situation. I chose to be income assessed but no maintenance grants have been mentioned, only loans??

So I rang them up and hmm...

Dad had to speak to them which he did, gave them details they had already recieved, nothing about a new declaration being sent out, I'll give them another call tomorrow to see where I stand.

Frustrating!
