English or History?

Hi guys! I am looking to study with the open uni (as I have mentioned in a previous post!) to start the process of becoming a primary school teacher :smile:

! However I am torn between an English Degree and a History Degree. I was always better at English and also studied it at A-Level, whereas History I only studied at GCSE. But I am not as interested in poems and Shakespeare as I am History. I think English may be a better option for me (due to it being a core subject and the fact I do well in it) and I have read the course outlines but I was wondering if people who have actually studied/are studying these subjects could give me some insight as to exactly what you study, what exams & coursework/essay are based on or required, workload etc? Any help would be appreciated!
