Discursive essay topic help

I'm doing national 5 English and we have to write a discursive topic. I want to do it on a topic that's not too common, and we've been advised against doing topics like abortion and animal testing that are overdone. I'm thinking about doing it either on whether or not there should be an international language or on whether more importance should be placed on foreign languages in our education and everyday lives. Do you think these are good topics, and if so, does either one sound better?
Thanks
That one about languages is a good idea, you can speak about Esperanto in that one. I did my one 2 years ago about Whether or Not Society Is Sexualising Children Too Much (including sexual lyrics to songs that children might sing)

I've just finished writing it and I did it on the international language one in the end. Pretty much half of it was just me talking about Esperanto and its pros
