The slab shown below is to carry a characteristic variable load of 2.5 kN/m2. Calculate the design load on the slab (per m2) and use it to determine the UDL on beams AB & CD. From this, calculate the design load at the base of column A. Repeat for column D. Asume slab / beams span to the outer faces of the columns. Take the unit weight of concrete as 23.5 kN/m3 and that for brickwork as 21.6 kN/m3
