University graduate going for RAF Officer

Hi,

I'm just wondering if anybody has a good idea of the benefits you can expect as a university graduate in the RAF as an Officer. I can't really find any information on the internet (granted I've not spent hours looking) or on here. I've heard a bit better pay, quicker promotion...

Does anybody have a few details on this?

Thanks a lot,

University graduates no longer benefit from accelerated promotion or better pay unless you enter as an engineer. Specialist branches like medical, nursing, legal officers do also still benefit.

Aircrew are accelerated but not because they are graduates, because they are aircrew and will be offered permanent commissions.

What branch were you looking at?

Hi, thanks for the information. I originally applied to ABM, but following some good results from my aptitude tests, the debriefing Flight Lieutenant advised I look at my options. I changed to Pilot. I know it's incredibly difficult to get in as a pilot, but hey-ho, somebody has to... My Filter interview is on the 1st April.

If you're going pilot then you do get accelerated promotion but only because of your branch, not because you are a graduate.

Good luck!
