Hi, I haven't recieved the email about accommodation yet. Will it come through soon or should I ring the uni? If so, what is the number I need to ring?

Thanks

For the accommodation with only 36/37 week contracts available, does that mean moving out at Easter/Christmas or just moving out earlier than the 41/42 week contracts?

If you've accepted herts as your firm offer you should have got an email! (Not sure about insurance offers, sorry!) But I'd call them to check

Hi,

Due to the high volumes of applications, our team are working as fast as they can to process students but this is taking some time. They will reply to you as soon as possible, there is plenty of Accommodation so don't worry.

Hi, It's all sorted now thanks
Hi does anyone know what students studying midwifery and nursing degrees are meant to do in terms of the fact that our degrees are 45 weeks sooo do we need to ensure the accommodation we choose have 45+ contracts? The only reason I'm questioning this is because all the places with the longer contacts seem to be quite expensive (£130 pw min). I think ideally I'd want to live in Telford Court but it says their contracts are only 42 weeks so would I as a midwifery student not be able to live there?

Hi there,

The best advice would be to speak to our Accommodation Team who will outline the options you can take. You can find their contact details on our website at http://www.herts.ac.uk/university-life/accommodation/contact-details

I hope that helps

Thank you

I emailed them and (in case anyone else is interested/ concerned about the same sort of thing) they said "...Students who choose a 50/51 week contract but then choose to leave their contract early will be held liable for the contract unless we are able to re-allocate to another student, whilst we do all that we can to achieve this we are unable to offer a guarantee.
Students who choose a 38/39 contract and need to stay beyond this date will be able to apply for summer accommodation but will need to move to another room for the summer period.
Students who choose a 42/43 contract will be able to apply for summer accommodation, there is no guarantee that students will remain in their current room. Students can also apply to leave before the end of the contract but will be held liable unless we can reallocate the room to another student."

So by the sounds of it it's basically okay to stay wherever you want because there's ways round having a too long or too short contract!
Hi, quick question.

I've put Hertfordshire as my insurance, I wasn't meant to apply for accommodation was I?
