Its tough best thing you can do is keep busy doing things you enjoy like taking part in societys and sport and try to make new friends. Also spend more time working to get a grade isnt that why your at uni for the first place.But if it gets really bad i would confront then tbh.

That shouldn't be seen as an insult though. It's just a lifestyle choice.

First sentence good. Second sentence shows massive lack of understanding.

Let's assume that OP is actually objectively fat (remember that people - girls mostly, but people nonetheless - call each other fat for no good reason anyway). Here's a cute lil chart 4 u

"lifestyle choice" lol. What about thin people who eat crap and never exercise? Surely that is a "lifestyle choice"?

i see very few things on that chart that aren't just excuses that you can say no to and just get on with it.

Maybe I missed something, but I don't see anything on there that forcefully prevents you from eating less.

My experiences at university were typified by the following:

The embodiment of schoolyard cliques (the geeks, the popular crew, the rich kids, etc) which were impenetrable and excluded everyone;

People who indulged far too much in immature pratfalls such calling lecturers nicknames, Facebook debacles and being childish when drunk;

Bullying and isolation in all types of forms a girl called me fat in front of everyone, another housemate bullied me severely until I had to move out, another used me for plagiarism whilst telling me my hair was falling out, etc.

Anyone else feel this way?
I am not cynical about the university experience; I maintain that the degree was a nightmare, not university itself.

Odd I've had an almost completely different experience and I'm in my first year.

It's very different, for one thing you can sleep with your professors without the police being called.

You still seem to be mixing up being fat (a side effect of many things) and being a lazy slob (a lifestyle that, yes, many thin people also choose to follow).

With all due respect, this thread has veered off topic. I still feel calling someone fat -- when they are not -- is not on, regardless of whether it is a lifestyle choice or not.

I Kant remember son Italian prick
At least at uni it's slightly easier to escape the idiots/bullying and find a suitable crowd, but the trouble with halls you're surrounded by them! Whereas in school at least you can go home and escape.

Unfortunately, that happened to me at university when I was living in halls; I was the victim of a racist and homophobic attack.

Give this fruitless argument a rest please...
I've experienced none of these things at university...
My only personal problem with uni is that I don't feel the course works very will with how I socialise. It takes me a while to get comfortable around people so a couple of minutes to talk before lectures isn't really a good way for me to make friends. Luckily uni has far more extracurricular activities & such than school, which I feel better suit how my brain socialises.
Sorry to hear you had some not so nice experiences OP!
I'm coming to the end of my first year and I've found university quite different to school. I've come across my fair share of immature people and bitchy girls (mostly in halls) but on the whole people seem to be a lot more accepting at uni and there's also a lot more people, so you're more likely to make friends/mix with different people (all in my experience).

Also, I'm pretty childish when drunk, as are the people I know, I think that's just something you have to accept :tongue:
