Well, some people hate the "domestic abuse, child abuse, rape, AIDS, cancer, crucifixion, homophobia, anti-Semitism, racism, and death are funny" attitude.

none of those things are funny normally but when presented like that, with the comments and facial expressions they become funny.

Example: if you saw a man falling down a cliff metres away from you, you probably wouldn't laugh. But if you saw a cartoon of a man falling down a cliff banging his head on every single rock and plant as he falls (example) in a cartoon then you would probably laugh. The same is true here.
I love them.
I'm glad you raised the example of the Simpsons. There's a good reason why none of the sources of "humour" I listed above appear in it.

explain.

Many of those sources appear in South Park and that is damn funny.
"Taste".

South Park is a middle ground, and the "moral"s it includes soften the blow somewhat, but because it uses some (not all) of those issues as sources of its comedy, it suffers a lessened version of the same problem, namely people regarding it as "going too far".

Take the Kyle-Jew jokes. The blow of Cartman's anti-Semitism is softened by his appalled reaction when Family Guy satirises the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) - the focus of the humour is then switched to being directed at his own hypocrisy. "Morning Glory" has no such softening, and I think that's what makes the difference.
What about this?

no, it has used all of them at some point.

yes, but Cartman's own hypocrisy doesn't always come out to "soften" it - I can think of loads of episodes where Cartman makes anti-semetic jokes with no such softening involved.

As far as I'm aware, South Park has not included scenes involving child sex abuse...
But you always know he's a hypocrite. It's one of his main characteristics in any episode.

To take another example, the "ginger kids" episode - by applying to hair colour exactly the same ridiculous approach as has been taken in deadly seriousness towards race, religion, sexuality and more, South Park ensures that the fun is fundamentally at the expense of the intolerant. "Moral of the story" again, but in a wider sense.

Same thing really. I'm not offended by it, but I can see why many many people would be. Similarly - again, a parallel with Morning Glory - I don't actually see the humour in it, offensiveness aside.
The humour, like in Morning Glory, comes from the juxtaposition of two such great contrasting entities - a disable kid and a gangsta rapper, or in the case of Morning Glory, a white-collar family man with totally inappropriate incestrial rape.
"Too offensive" for what?

Child abuse has been used (Butters is a repeating case)

And sex abuse has been used, with Cartman and the "sucking semen out of a tube" gag.

I recommend you all join the SOUTH PARK SOCIETY.
I didn't even smile. Totally unfunny, childish humour. Not offensive, because of how unintelligent they are. The type of person who finds these things funny is typical. I'm sure before even looking, we could guess who on TSR would laugh at them.

How is a joke about a dad raping his daughter in a clown suit funny? Oh, i get it. Clowns are funny.......

oh right its me that has problems.

Actually i take greater offence at the Tony Benn comments in your sig, even if i was a socialist id hate his guts.

I've already said why i find it humourous, there will always be an outlet for the outrageously bluntly offensive in the market. And its not based on intelligence. The first laugh was at someone falling over, which is how we learnt to walk. We still find the most stupid and basic things funny and what we find funny is not necessarily linked to intelligence.

Yawn to the first bit of the reply.

To the second, who cares?

To the third, i disagree. Intelligence and humour are linked. The younger you are, the less complex a joke has to be to be funny. When you grow up and acquire knowledge and wisdom, you don't laugh at you father saying "boo" behind his hands. If you are clever, you don't laugh at rapist , incestuos clowns saying "i'll wear a condom". I'm not arguing about whether they are offensive or not. The debate is about whether potentially offensive things are funny. The examples given in those carttons are not in the least bit funny. There are, however, some very funny offensive jokes. It would serve us well to find better examples than those crap cartoons.
I do know a few offensive jokes, that are actually funny.

What do you do if an Indian man is drowning? Take you foot off his head.

What do you call an Indian on the moon? A problem. What do you call all Indian men on the moon? Problem solved.

A white girl takes a black man back to her flat for sex. Sh'es kinky, so she has him handcuff her to the bed. She exclaims "Okay! Do what black guys do best", while spreading her legs. So he steals her T.V

These are funny, because they require a TINY bit of thought. Those cartoons are just void of any thought or intelligence. They are like statements, rather than jokes.

Unfunny IMO.

This is why I found some of them funny, the deadpan way in which it was done.
