MEDICINE - *RESULTS DAY 2014* - AS Level Results Discussion & Advice

if u dont mind me asking what did you get at GCSE and why dont you apply for unis which consider the better out of As and GCSE.

I've got only 5 GCSEs as I and in the UK when I was a bit over 16 and I couldn't go into a proper school so I had to do one year of gcses at a college that could only provide me with 5 gcses a year and I've done ( maths bio chem psychology English ABBCC). And I got in AS (can't remember if I told you my as grades) ABCE in psychology maths chemistry and biology and now I'm carrying on psychology maths chem and resit one biol unit
I believe I will be well disadvantaged going for academic based unis so in trying to do as well as I can in ukcat and apply to Newcastle Durham Aberdeen and maybe Nottingham foundation course.

5 A in bio ,physics, Spanish , Igcse maths and geography
4 B in computing , DT , German , English lit
1 C in English language
A levels
Geography -A
Bio-B
Maths -B
Chemistry -C
Further maths -D
Drop further and geog for A2
Predicted AAA maths chem and bio

19th still got a little bit left. I do on average about 200 qs a day so I should see an improvement soon on my mocks. I still have to do on medify the hard and medium mock. When is yours ?

Hey, I did my UKCAT and my score was bad (600-630 range) so where would you suggest I consider applying ?
I'm considering UCL, Imperial, BSMS, Birmingham, Liverpool, Bristol and Lancaster and King's foundation course.
Got any advice ?

None, as far as I am aware.

None for the standard 5 years course the UCAS computer will reject your application towards the unis if you don't get predicted AAA. Your application won't even get to the uni

Well done you! Do the BMAT! work your bum off for that! I think one BMAT, two GCSE and that King's foundation course would be good. So Imperial, Birmingham, Liverpool and King's is my suggestion. (Mainly because Bristol is very competitive as is Birmingham but Bham is better I think haha)

I have 1yrs voluntary exp. at Cancer Research UK

Working 2 yrs at a travel agency

Done a hospital placement for 1 week

Done a pharmacy placement for a week

I am a prefect, peer mentor and was a student voice representative

I am to start working at a retirement home

What are my chances at getting into medicine?
