The gun thing is a bit weird, I wouldn't be keen on that. It's all a part of the sub/dom thing really. Violent sex isn't all that weird, and can be very enjoyable. BUT, if you're not comfortable with it then talk to her about it. Compromise so that you're both happy with what you're doing. IE, some nights doing what she likes, some nights doing what you're more into.

It's just how sexuality goes, a lot of people dig this stuff. I've always been into kinkier stuff, the media normally portrays it like people have violent tendancies in their general life, or were abused or something, but that isn't true for me and I don't think it's true for most people. I can't explain it any more than I can explain why I like tits, they just turn me on.
Your girlfriend should understand that just because she's the sub, she shouldn't just demand you do anything she wants, and expect you to comply as you're not being hurt. I feel like this stuff is always something you should build up to, it's very important there's strong trust when having rough sex. Tell her you'd rather take things a bit slower in this regard.

It is something that is becoming more common and accepted now. As long as your both comfortable and no laws are being broken then alll is fine. If you're not comfortable then talk to her and work something out.
