How much money have you made with YouGov so far and in what space of time?

I looked into this one time when I was bored, but it looked like a scam, like you finish the survey and it'll tell you you're not eligible because you turned out to not be in the desired category of people.

I have accumulated £38.75 on YouGov so far, and I have been a member for about 5 months - so it can take a while to get to the £50 target (this is when you get your cheque sent out). Having said that it is still money for nothing to me!

YouGov is certainly not a scam, it is very reputable. (Unlike other sites that I have come across :frown:). You NEVER get invited to a survey for which you are not eligible - even if the survey only gives you two questions, you still get paid for it.

You will often see on the news (BBC online frequently) that "according to a YouGov survey, blah people thought blah...", which I like, because I know I contributed to the statistic!

Hope this is of use!

Here are some reveiws of YouGov to (hopefully) put your mind at ease  ...

(Having said, people in the reviews seem to be taking a while to reach the £50 target. Can't say I've had quite so much trouble myself!)

If you really want to earn some notable amounts of money from these sites, you have to sign up to loads of them, otherwise you'll only be earning tiny bits of money each month. I'm a member of one site where you get £100 off Amazon vouchers once you do enough surveys; its been about two years and I'm not even halfway there, but it doen't take much time - maybe a minute, every few weeks or so.

Hmm, I just had a look at it again, and I was wrong - you collect 100 "points"(or the equivalent) which are exchangable for £16 off vouchers at Amazon.

I've earned about £50 in Amazon vouchers using the survey site www.valuedopinions.co.uk. They send you quite a few quick surveys where you can earn a few pounds at a time and once you reach £5 you can receive vouchers for places such as HMV, WHsmiths, Amazon etc.
I agree that YouGov is a good site but there are others where you can get paid quicker and the surveys are more interesting.

There is a short list of decent survey sites here.

I used to do online surveys while I was at uni, the good thing about them is that you can decide which to do and which not to depending on how busy you are. I made a few hundred quid during my 3 years.

The best ones, if I remember correctly, are Pureprofile, that's-what-I-think, Quickwise and Test & Vote.

How long does it take you to earn £5?

I've been a member of YouGov for over two years. At first it was great, got sent surveys every week. But the last few months I havent had a single survey offer from them. Wondering if its becuase i am nearing the £50 mark and this is how they avoid paying people? Has anyone ever actually got a cheque from YouGov?

Obviously depends on how many surveys you are eligible for. But in general a week or two plus.

The secret to making money from these surveys involves completely ruining their statistics, but it does benefit you if you can be bothered.

The hardest people to survey are 18-24 yr old business executives/higher managers. If you happen to be one of these (or they happen to think you are  ) you get tonnes of surveys, from Ciao especially, although some are to do with quite specialist things so you need to know your stuff (or be good at blagging). I get £1.50 surveys about twice a week from them, which, people who do these things know is quite a lot.

PureProfile is pretty good too, although recently they've only sent me those 40p targetted search things.

Yet to have a pay out from either mind.
I'm signed up to ciao and get surveys ever other day, but every single time I fill in the little questionaire beforehand, i'm told i don't match the citeria or i'm too late :frown:

just be patient. Eventually surveys will come that you can do
I'm a member of valuedopinions.co.uk and I have been for a couple of years. The don't send out cheques but instead give you a gift voucher for highstreet stores (there's everything from DIY to music stores.) You do surveys until you reach your £10 mark and then they notify you and ask you what voucher you want. I've so far recieved £20 of vouchers.

It can be a bit frustrating because you start lots of surveys only for them to abruptly end because you don't match their criteria, but it's worth it, it paid for a couple of CD's for me!
