Is my new EPQ idea academic enough?
My EPQ idea is to adapt the book 'The Bunker Diary' into a screenplay. Is this academic enough for an EPQ?

Academic for which pathway? It's a good idea that will show your creativity and interpretation skills, etc, for areas such as Media, for example. But it's obviously not doing much for science or maths.
Either way, EPQ's are designed for you as an individual, so do what you like.
