The heart process starts at the Sino-Atrial Node (SAN) Which is in the right atrium, it sets the rythm of the hertbeat, by sending regular beats of electrical activity over, a band of non-conducting tissue stops it from going directly to the atrium, it then travels to the AVN (atri-ventriucal node), here it is delayed slightly to allow the Atria to contract (forcing the blood out into the ventricles) the electrical activity then flows down the septum, through the bundle of His, when it reaches the apex it then moves up the sides (purkyne tissue) where it causes the ventricles to contract, forcing blood out via the Semi-lunar valve, the process is then repeated.
