I occasionally remember that some of the people I'm around have sex

It's worse when it's your family you think of.

For me it's even worse when I'm with family and I remember that I've had/have sex. They think I'm some innocent antisocial weirdo with no life outside them. They really have no ****ing clue about what I get up to. I feel so wrong and almost guilty when I think about that side of my life when I'm around them because they still think that I'm Muslim and that I'm a virgin.

I'm in my 20's and I've had a lot of sex. I tend not to think about it much anymore as it's something that is fairly easy to obtain and very normal. You're making it a bigger thing than it actually is.

I mean , I know people have sex and it's a perfectly normal thing but I feel really uncomfortable seeing or hearing about sex typically. It's only really unless I'm in the mood where I can stand it, talking about it is ok to a degree until it gets detailed and then it's too much.

But yeah, occasionally I'm with friends and in my head it's like "That person has had sex. And it was with the person I was talking to. What" And just..

I know friends who are virgins and they're rabid at the thought of it.



Ok people don't get me wrong, I've had sex, I like sex, ok? BUT only when I am in the mood for it as I have mentioned many times. Outside of that, which is a lot of the time, it makes me uncomfortable.

Doesn't make me uneasy - unless it's family of course - but I don't get 2 (seemingly contradictory) things:

1. Why is sex such a taboo subject?
2. Why do people care how much/little sex other people are/aren't having?

1. Religion / Sexually active Women treated like scarce economic resources
2. Jealousy / caused by sex being available to 50% of men

To clarify... I know the answers (they were the same as yours pretty much) but I don't get "WHY" - again I get the reasons but it's stupid.

Seems the only people who can get away with anything are guys who are having loads of sex and the cute commited couples.

Women ( and their genitals ) are treated like economic resources because we are indoctrinated to believe that girls don't like sex at all and men need it all the time.

Girls are effectively brainwashed to feel deep shame for wanting sex outside of a relationship (this process is effective once she has become a teen, through a combination of her father and religious shaming ).

Thus we have a capitalist style model where an elite (but large elite 50%, elite perhaps not the word) if you will have more sex than others. And im not bitter, as I have been with a lot of girls and am pretty indifferent as a result to the jealousy / insecure not getting enough sex world.

Everyone likes sex (unless of course they don't!!) so I don't get why women get shamed so much. This isn't a gay vs straight issue but last time I checked it takes two (or more) people to have sex - don't get me started on the non issue of what people do alone - and so two people doing exactly the same thing at exactly the same time ... I don't see a problem.

Quite clearly and yet again religion has much to answer for.
