Can I apply for a maintenance loan if I've sent off my form already

Basically I applied for my tuition fee loan about 2 weeks ago and sent off my signed document last week, I originally was planning to not have a maintenance loan because my parents have set aside 2.5k for my maintenance (they also will pay 5.5k for my rent) but some people on tsr were saying that I should take the loan (not sure how much I'm entitled to) anyway because the interest rates are so low. What should I do? Should I take it? And is it too late to add it to my application? Also I was denied a maintenance grant does this mean my tuition fee loan is void?

Hi there.

You can still apply for the maintenance loan as long as it is within 9 months of your course start date. Every student will be eligible for some amount of loan even if they are denied a grant.

It's entirely your decision on whether you choose to take the loan or not, however if it's not really required then there would be no point if it's to be paid back at a later date plus interest.

Thanks.
