Along the lines of History, English Literature, Government and Politics, Law, Economics. However its more important to do subjects you'll succeed in and find interesting.

I'm personally not going into Law, but my friends are. English, History are the main ones I'm guessing. If you have those two and two other opposing ones like a science and maths to show you have a wide variety of skills you should be fine. Also (just a possibility) but if you dont want to continue onto law you can drop back on your other subjects. hope this helps

Any mainstream, respected A leevls are good. History and English are most often suggested and are good choices, but neither is necssary. Maths is also a very good choice.
