nah as long as you get 6.5 which is like 'can have good understandable coversations in english' then you should be fine lol.
so what do you love about psychology then? like which areas etc

Any of the social sciensies should`nt be critisised untill you get to know the fundamental stratigies involved with the subject.Psycoligy is about helping people and resolving complex issues..

ok....a bit random....no one said anything contradictory...

i'm relieved to hear that

hm... what do i like most about psychology... you read my personal statement, didn't you? i am most fascinated by neuropsychology, because of the experiments and because i love biology - especially neurobiology.
i also like the fact that you have many areas to work in after your graduation, cause i'm not really sure yet if i want to work rather as a clinical psychologist or more scientifically.. or in business.
ah, but i really love most of psychology - except for statistics perhaps, but i don't mind much doing some maths.
can't wait to beginn my studies!

i can imagine schizophrenia to be exciting! as well is tourettes syndrome, autism, epilepsy and so on... (except for the people who suffer from it i guess  *cough*)
hm, i guess on the other hand it's quite hard to get a job because so many people study psychology, eh?
i'm planning to do a masters degree after the bachelor, but who knows what will be in 3 years...

i studied autism and schizophrenia and they were good. i haven't done tourettes or epiliepsy. although we had a bit of a talk about it today in one of my lectures (but it was a psychoanalysis one) and it was good. i dont' like how notts doesn't concentrate much on freud because i find him really interesting.

yep, i like freud too. though he sometimes makes me laugh
in germany they don't consider him at all in the psychology courses, they do a lot more business psychology

can't quite understand why, a lot of his theories are proven by neurologists now.
yeh he was funny.and most of the stuff he wrote made sense.but why people disregard him or don't respect him or somehting is beyond me.

well, i must admit when i first read his theories about psychosexual development i was quite put off as well at first... "clitoris inferiority" and "penis envy" :wtf?: pleeease!
but if you read some more he indeed makes sense, especially what he wrote about incest prevention of primitive people... really entertaining as well
well yeh it's odd,but interesting all at the same time.and he does make some sense lol i don't know, maybe i'm not put off easily by stuff :p:

ps: this has now demonstrated that you will indeed be able to get a 6.5 in your IELTS  are you doing IB's?

well, as i said i like him as well - i just can't help it

now that reassures me a bit  i'm doing the german abitur.
Ethics forms are mean. As are risk assesments.
:hugs:
Ta  They want me to write a risk assesment for a questionnaire, a questionnaire! So Far I have papercuts, which according to my teacher is actually a valid point. World has gone crazy.
lol  goodness!
well risk assessment...font size? could cause a headache, eye problems...??

i'm mucho scared about third year and stuff :frown: they're making us design an experiment to test memory and with 3 other people in my group,it's just grr!!
Heh, Thats pretty much what were doing now.. we have to go through all of the stages. I hate writing them up the most as APA does my head in. Whatever way I do it its always wrong!
grrrr i hate studying for tutorials :motz:
people,i need help.
I have a tutorial essay to write. 'describe the role of attention in the performance of skilled actions'. now i know we're supposed to write all the normal stuff about attention, model etc...what else?....i'm a bit clueless
Hmm .. this thread looks a little like it's turned into a no-mans-land. Someone please prove me wrong!
I'm taking Psychology at A-level. And probably a Sports Psychology course at Uni.. Anybody have any useful info they could tell me?
I'm completely new to the subject, so open to anything
Thanks ___x.
I don't know much about sports psychology...but you could be meeting famous people whichever sport you decide to specialise in  do you like your course so far?

i think it's dead because it's exam time...people are trying to cram at the last minute...how we're expectred to study a whole year's worth of psych work and know it and be ready for a 2.5 hour exam pisses me off! and the fact that studying is the last thing on the brain doesn't help :frown:....i'm thinking of changing course...
