PC : PES6. Need Gamepad (controller)..Advice?

as title says..any advice? im currently looking at a couple but the ones im intrested have gotten various reviews...i want something which doesnt break easily as we all know PES6 is the game where you end up throwing your controller all over the place after an unsuccesfull pass :p:

ive just began researching but these are the ones im considering..ps price range not to outrageous..maybe upto £25?

obviously has to have 4 shoulder buttons, 2 analogues etc.

any suggestions/advice? will be rewarded (but obviously this shouldnt be the reason for help )
I would use a 360 pad or a PS2 to USB adaptor
They sell them for the PC, bt they are just the same as wired 360 pads but with a driver CD (you could download the drivers off the net and buy a 360 pad anyway, as the hardware is identical)

Shortly MS are releaseing a USB wireless adaptor for PC that lets wireless 360 controllers and accessories to be used on PC. This might be good for those who want to run 2-4 player MAME roms on PC etc

Beats anything from those crappy companies. Dont skimp on the controller.

On another note, does anybody know if you can get xbox 360 controllers for the pc? Its definitely the best controller ever made.

is it any good? do you own this one? looks quite "simple" compared to the others ive listed?

i use PS2 pad @ school (playing PES4 on PS2) and i dont like it.

and i dont have time to relearn for 360 pad!..my mates have been playing PES6 for months whilst i have been revising!..i need to regain my crown (saying that i have actually been winning at PES4 atm in school)..
Surely you would have to 'relearn' for whatever unproven third party pad you might buy instead anyway?

lol theres a diffrence between a PS2 like pad an an Xbox 360 one..ive never used them!

anyway...so is Rumblepad really that good?

the thing i like about the ones i chose is that they look quite ergonomically well designed...unlikes PS2 pad IMO.

fair enough..looks like Rumblepad2 it is

thanks
The key factors for me are button placement and stick sensitivity. So 2 pads can look different but still feel equally good... you get what you pay for is the main thing don't be put off about 'learning' controls, otherwise you would never play more than one game. I must have played 30 FPS games with a pad and they all have different controls...

i have the 360 pad for windows. its just a normal 360 pad with a little serial to usb converter connected on the end. its a good controller, unfortunately there are very few apps on the net that provide analogue stick mapping for different games, and even fewer that work with my version of windows (x64, ftw  )

all the controls work flawlessly with halo 1 for the pc, thats the only game i know where theyre pre-mapped.

get it if you can find a mapping app for your game. otherwise just buy an old sidewinder or something :P

ive been using my Xbox360-wired pad round my mates to play fifa07 (damn its crap on the pc) and you know what, its absolutely bloody perfect, if only the game was decent it'd be spot on. Best bet for a decent controller imo.

And is it me or after saying you dislike the PS2 controller, do you seem to have youre heart set on a logitech controller thats basically a "slightly" curvier version of the generic PS2 controller?

I must say that the Xbox360 pad is the best pad I have ever used.
