Russia possibly stepping up involvement in Syria

There are reports coming out of a possible Russian build up inside Syria. Satellite images appear to show expansion of military facilities, and there are reports of tanks and armoured vehicles and Russian aircraft being sent. Russia has been a long time ally of the Assad government.

Now, it appears Russia might be getting ready for air strikes inside Syria.

People do realise Assad is at war with terrorists who are supported and trained by the the US and others? Free Syrian Army

War on terrorism is a farce, just an excuse to force regime changes. All the regime changes are to do with with putting in Israel friendly puppet governments.

This is just a double standards where they say one group is a terrorist and the other is a freedom fighter

Russia are the good guys in this, along with Iran and Assad. Britain is complicit in this too.. we should be ashamed at our leaders.
Corbyn of course will change that.

Look I'm not saying Assad's army haven't done bad things but they're likely exaggerated like those alleged gassings that many believe was the work of FSA to frame them.

The Russian naval base at Tartous probably has something to do with it. Russia also doesn't want to lose one of its long time allies in the Middle East.

Russia have apparently been sending aircraft which are more advanced than what the Syrian air force uses. The SAF isn't very good for precision attacks (western militaries use guided bombs, the SAF usually uses unguided ones). So more advanced Russian aircraft with capable crews and decent intelligence could actually swing the balance back in his favour. Especially since the US led coalition has basically left ISIS alone where it's front line is with the Syrian army - Russian aircraft could fill that gap and help the Syrian army recapture land from ISIS.

Of course, they may not just target ISIS. They could target the other rebels as well. Assuming Russia has any plans to get that involved at all - it could just be a defensive move.

Come off the conspiricy and take your tin foil hat off.

The FSA has changed SO much it's not the FSA that it was when the war started. It got hijacked by all sorts of nasties seeking power whilst Assad was weak from the backlash by his own population. They're in part made up of defecting Syrian Army!

They're using AK47's and RPG 7's. All Soviet era weapons, as usual and are funded by the Gulf states. The US has supplied some communications equipment. I think some western states sent very small numbers to train the FSA to fight against ISIS, whom they consider an enemy.

If you want to watch Assad barrel bomb civilians, it's on youtube.
