Is anybody who studied in RHUL knows about the social life? how is it like?

Hello,

I was a Royal Holloway student and graduated last summer. Because Royal Holloway is a campus based University, it is a hub of activity. There is always something going on that you can get involved with, whatever you're into. I personally got involved in Sports and Societies from day 1 which are a great way to meet new people, socialise, go out etc. I played on the Women's Football team for my three years which was amazing. We went out together (Wednesdays are the big sports nights for all clubs!), took day trips, volunteered in the local community, held events on campus etc.

Royal Holloway has a couple of bars on campus, a pub and the SU which is where the bigger nights out happen. There's Medicine bar and that has nights out on Thursdays and Saturdays which are always good fun. Medicine also has more chilled nights during the week where you can watch a football match, play pool etc. They often have quiz nights and live music too. The SU's nights out are on Wednesdays and Fridays which loads of people go to so you're guaranteed a good night! Often there's a dress up theme of some kind

Social life here is really great  really happy to answer any other questions you might have.

Hey Guys,
I've been given a conditional offer to study MSc. in Information Security (with a year in Industry) at RHUL.
The offer is to submit the IELTS as i'm non-native, so pretty much certain that i'm going to get the offer, and really excited to attend RHUL in Sept. 2016

Aw I haven't seen anyone else either! Nice to meet you ;D I've done mine now, put the twin in founders as first choice then singles in gowar/wedderburn after, figured founders would be convenient and it'd for me to make friends. You??

I put anything in founders as my first choice and after that I can't remember, I'm just hoping I get that and not anything else because it's stunning and right in the centre of campus and it looks like Hogwarts:P

Single for my first choice and then twin room after that, I had a look at the food at the open day/applicant day and it seemed pretty decent

Same but the other way around, maybe we will bump into each other haha. Well that's good if I'm going to be living off of it. I haven't been to an open day yet, going to one soon though

I was worried about sharing a room in case I didn't get on with my room mate so I didn't put it first 😬 Haha probably.
I've been to one taster day about this time last year and then an applicant day in Feb, I really love the campus <3
Yeah I sort of was at first but then figured someone wouldn't really put it high in their preferences unless they were friendly enough haha, I'll either have someone I get on with decently or a really good friend so figured it was worth the risk, plus it's just a year. Aw yeah well it looks really beautiful, I've always lived in a country area though c:

Hi guys,

I don't know about anyone else but seeing all of these high predicted grades did put me down slightly... I'm not a poor achiever but sometimes when we get stressed everyone begins to doubt what they are capable of.

I really want to attend Royal Holloway and I'm gonna try my hardest to achieve as high as possible... Hope to see some of you guys soon.

( Planning on studying Business and Management)

Hello,

I am interested in applying to Royal Holloway with the intention of studying Bsc Business and Management. However, I am in a unique situation; I have just completed the first year of university in an American university in the Middle East, along with a three-month internship at IKEA, resulting in me having more experience than your standard first year applicant. I have also completed my GCSEs (with ten A* - C grades including Mathematics and English), along with A-Levels in Business Studies, English and Psychology, attaining grades A, B and C respectively. At my current university, my cumulative GPA is 3.5, and I have also received the Dean's List Award due to my high academic achievements. I was wondering, would RH consider me a transfer student or a first year student? Furthermore, what would the process of my application be?

Hey!

We do sometimes accept transfer students directly into the second year of study, but this is entirely dependent on several factors including the individual course/department's policy and your academic experience. I would recommend you to get in touch with our admissions team to have a chat about your chosen course to find out what your options are, as all cases are different and they can advise you further. You can contact them by emailing [email protected] or if you'd like you can phone +44 (0)1784 414944 anytime from 9am-5pm (UK time).

I hope that helps!

Jess

Hey! Anybody knows about the food in the campus? Is it ok for vegan/vegetarians and where do you get your groceries from? Thanks!

Hey!
I've eaten on campus a few times and I can say the food isn't bad. Nothing to shout about but certainly edible hahaha. I'm pretty sure there's always vegetarian options, not too sure about vegan though. You can find the menus on the website if you look hard enough ~
As for buying groceries people normally go to Tesco or Waitrose in Egham or order online from pretty much anywhere (Tesco, Asda, Sainsburys etc.). You could also buy food from the shop on Campus, but tends to be pretty expensive and lacks variety.
There's also a market in the SU once a week where you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables, and I think oriental food? That's pretty useful
