Edexcel Unit 6: Hitler and Nazi state

Is it just me or does this unit appear to have been slapped together? i understand alot of Nazi germany but i have no idea what exactly I'm supposed to revise.
I can't find a sylabus anywhere, my teacher is a dense idiot who doesn't understand what she's teaching. To be frank i'm lost, i have no idea what i need to know for the exam and what information i can discard. If anyone has a course outline or overview they could provide me with it would be extremely helpful and reduce my stress.
Oh and the exemplar scheme of work helps me to no end, seriously i hate edexcel now lol.

is your paper based on sources, or just questions?

I am doing that unit as well, and it's source-based.

i'm also doing this unit and my teacher gave us some revision notes from edexcel which covers all the content you need to know. I'm not sure how to upload/attatch them to this post but i could email them to you

Where did you order the revision book from and how much did it cost you? I think I may need to invest in a copy!

This is a worrying post since it's very late to be asking this kind of question about possibly the hardest paper on the course. May I suggest you obtain, as quickly as you can, Derrick Murphy and Geoff Stewart's A2 History Edexcel Unit 6: Hilter and the Nazi State: Power and Control, 1933-39(ISBN 0860037363) It's very short (93 pages) which means you'll have a chance to take it in with the time left. Don't hate Edexcel. It's not them. I'm astonished, frankly, that your teacher has left you this late to prepare for this one. You need to go to him/her? and say: "show me Unit 6 past papers... explain to me what I need to know about the various historical schools of thought that are referenced in the sources and how to combine them with my own knowledge in order to hit level 4s throughout my answer." If he/she can't tell you, write back to me here and I'll see what I can do.

Hmmm this may come back to haunt me, but I think with a bit of own knowledge and a reasoned reading of the sources, this paper is fairly straightforward.
My old A level teacher said it was 75% sources and 25% own knowlede and that we should let the own knowledge compliment the source analysis you do.

Yeah, same thing from my teacher. The one thing I hate about sources, though, is that I always seem to miss the most obviously relevant point and then kick myself about it later. Ah well . . .

If you're having trouble with source analysis, try this book:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/As-Exposed-Edexcel-National-Socialism/dp/0955802504/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1210756929&sr=8-2

It's for AS but it's helped me a lot with my A2 Sources as well
I hate sources too, you arent alone in that. But what I did was lifted quotes from the sources and just put them into my essay. If you want any help please PM me.

do you think Hitler as a dictator was weak or strong?

Oh dear, we could spend hours discussing this. Or is that the point? In brief, I would argue that he was a strong dictator up until the tide of the war began to shift in 1942.
