If you dont live at halls can you still make friends?

Probably wont move out for uni... but want to make loads of life long friends. Apart from flatmates how do you make friends... can you talk in lectures?

it's harder no two ways about it and no people don't talk during lectures but the do afterwards before in labs and breaks.

Societies, volunteering/charity stuff, work. Tbh a lot of friends in first year are made on the journey home, which might be good if your house/bus stop/train station is in the same direction as halls.

Yup! Especially during your first couple of lectures, that's your opportunity to befriend a couple of people. Start up a conversation with whoever you end up sitting next to ^^ Also, join lots of societies! You will meet tons of great people there with like-minded interests!
