taking extra a levels over 3 years - 'one sitting'?

Say if you completed Chemistry, Maths and Biology A Level but had a change of heart and decided to spend another year at college doing only physics a level so you could apply for a physics undergraduate degree, would good - top universities not consider you as this doesn't necessarily count as 'one sitting'?
