Can acca qualification top up my poor degree

I had a third class degree in b.com. it took me two years to finally love accounting and finance enough to start studying it, i ended up doing a course in banking and finance which i passed and now qualify to charter in banking. I want a career in accounting and finance and i want to write the acca without claiming any exemptions cos i feel thats the only way to prove myself. The hardwork and self sacrifice is something am willing to do. Will a good acca qualification be enough to top up my poor degree or put me at the same level with a first class holder. Or will my poor degree forever be a stigma
