How do I transfer university after first year?

Hi guys, I fear I have made a mistake in choosing to go Sussex Uni over Exeter Penryn and I cant get the sickeing feeling out of my head. When I visted the Cornwall campus a girl I spoke to said she had moved down after her first year at Leeds, therefore my question is how abouts do I begin the process to transfer unis and how does it work? I'm studying geography so will I be able to just join Exeter penryn at the second year stage or do I need to start over (don't believe I do). Thanks in advanced.

You need to apply through UCAS and select the option of starting at second year.
